EMHR Announces Start of 2003 Grant Round

TOWANDA - Endless Mountains Heritage Region Board of Directors announced the pre-application phase of the 2003 grant round of the Pennsylvania Heritage Park Program is now open. Matching grant funds are available for projects selected under this state grant program administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources on behalf of the state's eleven heritage parks. Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties make up the local Heritage Region.
Local non-profit agencies, organizations and municipalities in the four-county Heritage Region are encouraged to apply for project or special study funds. All projects must meet the goals described in the Endless Mountains Heritage Region's management action plan for the development of heritage sites, facilities, and infrastructure. Examples include renovation of historic structures, walking tours, and planning documents such as feasibility studies or master plans for heritage related sites.
Pre-applications are due into the Endless Mountains Heritage Region's office at 10 Park Street in Towanda no later than Friday, September 27, 2002. A copy of the Management Action Plan is available for review during weekday business hours at the EMHR's office. Personnel are available to answer questions concerning eligibility or project suitability and offer guidance.
