Mildred "Millie" Simons, 73, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday July 4, 2012 at home with her husband of 50 years by her side.
She was born on May 8, 1939 in Sayre, the daughter of the late Lewis W. and Altheda Jennings. Millie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, attending concerts in the park, and taking care of her cats.
She is predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 50 years Richard; five daughters Kim (Benny) Westbrook of Athens, Lori (Bub) Frantz of Athens, Rena (Steve) Olmsted of Waverly, N.Y., Pam (Barry) Brosnan of Athens and Lisa (Eric) Jackson of Ga.; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister Nancy Endy of Va.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Jackson officiating Burial will be in the family cemetery in Athens at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Mildred's memory to: Robert Packer Hospital 8th Floor Dialysis Unit, One Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840.
