Phyllis J. (McSparron) Gergel, 81, of Town & Country Estates, Troy, passed away July 21, 2012 at the Bradford County Manor.
Phyllis was born June 5, 1931 in Sayre,daughter of the late Richard and Sarah (Riley) McSparron.
She was married to the late John J. Gergel, Jr. on April 19, 1952 and they celebrated 54 years together. Phyllis was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother and was a parishioner of St. John's Catholic Church in Troy.
Service are private and under the direction of the Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 1093 West Main St., Troy. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Troy.
Surviving are her sons Michael S. Gergel of Pensacola, Fla., Patrick J. Gergel of Troy and John J. Gergel III of Carlisle; her daughters, Mary Ellen Johnson of Sayre, Karen Wells of Barton, N.Y. and Margaret Miller of Moscow; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, husband John J. Gergel Jr. on Oct. 26, 2006 and her son, Thomas V. Gergel.
