Eleanor M. Walker, 90, of Milan, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at ElderWood following an extended illness.
She was born on July 16, 2012 in Litchfield, the daughter of the late Floyd W. and Isabella Catlin Bennett.
Eleanor was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very active in the Milan Methodist Church. Eleanor enjoyed needlepoint and crafts, playing cards, and in her younger years was an avid bowler.
She is predeceased by her husband of over 51 years, Donald H. Walker in November 1992.
Eleanor is survived by her sons Robert S. (Mary) Walker of Waverly, N.Y., and Donald J. Walker of South Waverly; grandchildren Anne M. Teeter, Michael P. Walker, Jeffrey M. Walker and Steven M. (Karen) Walker; and great-grandchildren Michaela, Collin, Dylan, Devon, Nicholas, Sean, Jack, Cole, Lily, and Liam.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens. Calling Hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Milan United Methodist Church, Route 220, Milan. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. the church with Lay Pastor Judy Elchak officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Eleanor's memory to a charity of one's choice .
