Mary Jo Mahoney Miller, 69, formerly of Towanda, succumbed to cancer Aug. 4, 2012.
Mary Jo was born Aug. 28, 1942 in Sayre, a daughter of Daniel Leo and Mildred Louise Mahoney. A graduate of St. Agnes High School and the Jean Sumner's Business School in Elmira, N.Y., Mary Jo worked primarily as a secretary. As a full-time RV'er for the last twelve years, she visited the 48 contiguous U.S. states and three Canadian provinces before settling in Pahrump, Nev. Mary Jo cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, movies, crafts, especially card making, and being a member of the Red Hats.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Edward Miller; three daughters, Theresa Marie Saik, Mary Catherine Miller and Ann Frances (Mark) Miller Gregory; one son, Timothy John Miller; three grandchildren, Christopher David Saik, Kiersten Marie Saik and Kellie Ann Saik; a sister, Patricia (Charles) Meier; a brother, Daniel Leo (Carol) Mahoney II; one aunt; two uncles; and several cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marguerite Miller.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Third Street, Towanda at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012. Interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, N.
