James Edward Colegrove, 57

James Edward Colegrove, 57, of Orwell Township, Pa., passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.

James was born April 25, 1955 in Troupsburg, N.Y., the son of the late Stanley Wayne Colegrove and Audrey E. Thomson Colegrove. He was a graduate of Troupsburg Central School class of 1973 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Air Force.

James was employed by Graphic Masters in Williamsport, Pa., for a number of years and worked as a graphics printer for most of his life. He grew up on a farm and possessed the gift to be able to fix almost anything. He loved the outdoors, all animals especially wolves and through his Native American spirituality being in tune with nature. James enjoyed woodworking, building projects, motor sports, NASCAR and professional wrestling. He will be fondly remembered for his willingness to help others and for his giving spirit.

Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Alan Gelatt of Ovid, N.Y.; nephews Lieutenant William S. Gelatt who is stationed in Guam, Lance Corporal David Gelatt and Lance Corporal Matthew Gelatt who are both stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C.; maternal aunt Crystal Dodge of Alfred Station, N.Y.; cousins Craig, Brian and Kevin Dodge and Steven Colegrove; close friends of many years, Lesley and Jean.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church, 305 Second St., Towanda, Pa., with Mr. Doug Stearns officiating.
