Beverly E. (Dillon) Sherman, 70

Beverly E. (Dillon) Sherman, 70, of East Troy, Pa., passed away on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Richard R. "Dick" Sherman.

The couple married July 16, 1960 and had 52 happy years together.

The funeral service to honor Beverly's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at the East Troy United Methodist Church, on Route 6 in East Troy with her pastor, Rev. Chris Nauta, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, Pa., has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Beverly was born on March 30, 1942 in Corning, N.Y., a daughter of the late Harold Dillon and Helen (Carpenter) Dillon of Towanda, Pa. She was a Troy High School graduate, Class of 1960 where she won the "Miss Betty Crocker" award. Bev was a member of the East Troy United Methodist Church, the Troy VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Women in the Outdoors. She was also a member of the Troy High Class 1960 Alumni committee, and even started a crocheting and knitting club. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking for her family because they were her top priority in life.

Beverly is survived by her husband Dick and her mother Helen; her children Terri (Jim) Saks of Dalton, Pa., Sandra (Mark) Hannan of Troy, PA, Karen Sherman of Towanda, Pa. and Bob (Rachael) Sherman of East Troy, Pa.; her grandchildren: Ashlee, Amanda, Sydney, Ross, Ben, and Grace; her great-grandchildren Savannah, Logan, and Sophia; her sisters Marge Leonard of Florida, Norma (Ron) Leonard, Audrey (Joe) Smith and Linda Diore, all of Gillett, Pa.; her brother Ron (Debbie) Dillon of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. Her father Harold Dillon preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made in Beverly's memory to the East Troy United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 9543 Route 6, Troy, PA 16947.
